Bio:

Ali Soltanolamaei (A.LÆSH), November 1981, Tehran-Iran, is a graphic communicator and typography award-winning, actively involved in the International Council of Design (Ico-D), and ADC (Art... Directors Club in New York). His profession centers on the social and anthropological aspects of language. He is currently fully tenured in (PSYGRAPHY,com) as a creative director and researcher, with a particular focus on linguistics methodology. His pedagogical approach supports multimodality and expanded practices, challenges dogmatism and encourages openness and curiosity. He has continuously shaped and reinvented the profile of his subject area by anchoring typography research and visual cultures as core study areas and by opening up the curriculum for explorative and inquiring processes. His discursive practice brings together teaching, writing, speaking, publishing and social engagement, and serves as a catalyst for prompting post-disciplinary conversations within and outside the academic sphere. ​​​​​He has initiated, led and participated in several third-party funded research projects concerning typography and pedagogy. In particular, he is interested in marginalized and hidden narratives, practices and epistemologies, in issues of alterity, effects and imagination; and in educating for uncertain times. Alongside his professional roles, he co-directs and co-organizes cultural events related to philosophy and art, (ARCHIVEMAGAZINE.ch).
