Bio:

Eduardo Aires was born in the region of Ribatejo, Portugal, and grew up in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Back to Portugal, he finished secondary school in... Coimbra and started Fine Arts School at Porto University, in 1982. He graduated in Graphic Design in 1987 and began to teach in the same year and School. He also began his design practice that year, specializing in graphic and editorial design. Since then, Eduardo has been working with clients such as the Porto City Hall, the INCM — Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Serralves Museum, and Esporão Wine Estate, to name just a few. Drawing from his experience, in 2006 Eduardo Aires presented his PhD thesis on the historical development of Porto newspapers. It was the first PhD on graphic design presented at the University of Porto. Today, Eduardo Aires is the director of the Master Program in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects at the Fine Arts Faculty of Porto University. He is also art director of Eduardo Aires Studio (formerly White Studio), whose work has been awarded internationally. Porto's new visual identity is one of his most recognized projects.
