The UNMUTED: Designers for Humanity Awards are where bold thinking, visual storytelling, and creative conviction converge. This is more than another awards competition — it’s a call to raise your voice.

Presented by Graphis and iconic designer Kit Hinrichs, UNMUTED invites creatives worldwide to respond to today’s most urgent issues through the power of poster and motion design — communicating the change our world is calling for.

Eligibility

  • Open to designers, illustrators, photographers, and motion artists worldwide
  • Posters must be 24" x 36" (vertical)
  • Motion entries max 3 minutes
  • Collaborative and studio entries welcome
  • Graphis reserves the right to disqualify work that is offensive, exploitative, or misrepresents authorship
  • All decisions are final

AI Assisted Content

Entries that involve AI-generated imagery or text must include a creative brief describing the role AI played and how the concept and direction were shaped by you. Submissions without significant original creative direction will be disqualified.

  • Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Honorable Mentions

  • Platinum, Gold, and Silver honorees featured in the traveling exhibition (2026)

UNMUTED celebrates work that uplifts humanity. Entries that depict or promote graphic violence, hate or extremist ideology, harassment or discrimination, sexual exploitation, self-harm, illegal activity, or intentional misinformation will be disqualified. Graphis reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decline, remove, or revoke recognition for any submission that conflicts with these standards or risks harm. Fees are non-refundable for ineligible entries.

  • Truth & Disinformation — exposing misinformation and distorted realities
  • Politics & Propaganda — critiquing political power, manipulation, and control
  • Migration & Displacement — sharing the journeys of refugees and the displaced
  • Disease & Famine — confronting health crises, hunger, and famine worldwide
  • AI & Humanity — exploring artificial intelligence’s impact on creativity, ethics, and the human condition
  • Hope & the Future — inspiring peace, unity, and a just world

Global Jury

Entries will be reviewed by a distinguished global jury of creative leaders across design, illustration, photography, and motion. Judging is blind and based on creative originality, execution, and relevance.

    • Series or Motion: $90

 

Content Policy

    • Depict or promote graphic violence, glorify harm, or incite real-world violence.
    • Promote hate, harassment, or discrimination against any group or individual.
    • Include sexual exploitation, non-consensual imagery, or any content involving minors.
    • Encourage self-harm, illegal activity, or the creation of weapons.
    • Intentionally spread misinformation, disinformation, or deepfakes presented as fact.
    • Violate privacy, defame individuals, or use third-party intellectual property without authorization.

 

Graphis may, at its sole discretion, decline, remove, or revoke recognition for any entry that violates these standards or is otherwise inconsistent with the spirit of UNMUTED. Graphis may request proof of rights (e.g., licenses, model/property releases). Entry fees are non-refundable for ineligible or withdrawn work.
