Immersed in commercial photography for the past twenty-five years, Ommanney has become one of the world’s most well known and accomplished photojournalists. His work... has appeared across the globe in thousands of publications and his iconic images have graced the cover of magazines such as Newsweek, Time, Vanity Fair, Stern, Paris Match and Rolling Stone. In 2005 Ommanney was named on American Photo Magazine’s list of “The 100 Most Important People in Photography.” He has received many awards for his work including two World Press awards, numerous Photographer of the Year awards, NPPA Best of Photojournalism, Communication Arts, The WHNPA Photo of the Year and The Alfred Eisenstaedt Life magazine award to name a few.
His primary interests are social issues and the effects of public policy at local and international levels. Ommanney works extensively in the United States covering politics, education, race, immigration and poverty among others.
