With a great deal of knowledge the special properties of plants and herbs have been lovingly caught in Abma’s oils and tomato products. Always from the logic of nature. Simple and pure. They asked us to capture and carry out Abma's philosophy. We translated the essence of the brand into a visual identity and packaging design.
We took a long walk with the two very down-to-earth owners of Abma’s. We asked questions, listened and found out their wish is to educate the consumer with simple but sophisticated flavors. This with their knowledge of plants and herbs, their love of nature, and their method of making the process leading, was the inspiration for the design. We created a handmade atmosphere with playful hand-cut shapes filled with paint structures. The whiteness of the design and idiosyncratic descriptions of the flavors add a scientific touch. Always with a wink. It helps the consumer to choose their favorite product, like a wine guide.
The result is a colorful series of labels for Abma’s oil and tomato products. The architecture of the design makes it easy to recognize the different series. Also the idiosyncratic descriptions of the flavors help the consumer to choose the product they are looking for and match their taste. But most importantly, the overall feel of the design captures the essence of Abma’s in a smart and fun way.
