The Coca-Cola Company’s print Annual Review and companion online Year in Review continue to be important communication tools for the Company and its global stakeholders by bringing to life those stories and events from the year that are critical to understanding the trajectory of the business over time.
In 2012, our goal was to honor the brand and to effectively communicate the idea of Shared Value by pairing business and society throughout the report using factoids of financial and nonfinancial data, real stories and inviting photos of consumers enjoying Coca-Cola Company products. We showed how The Coca-Cola Company refreshes the world, inspires happiness, creates value and makes a difference.
When we tackled The Coca-Cola Company’s 2012 Annual Review, we continued with our strategy of designing the online and print versions in tandem to ensure a consistent experience from pixel to paper. We aimed for immersive storytelling through bold messaging made even bolder by textural type, a fresh language of color and sun-drenched imagery that we art directed. The online version was designed to be responsive and to incorporate elegant interactivity, such as text animations and a grab-and-drag canvas on desktop.
Overall, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Our Coca-Cola Company client continues to share stories with us, ranging from one about a Fortune 100 CEO holding up the 2012 print report during a meeting and stating that “this is what our report should be like” to another about a senior vice president at The Coca-Cola Company claiming that the 2012 annual report is the best one ever created in the history of the Company.
