This photography was for a project I did over a year ago - Omega Seafood. Originally, I was tasked to completely brand a restaurant. I recently brought this brand back to life with these food photographs that tell the story.
This was my first shot at food photography. I made a mood board with inspiration on lighting, placement, background, etc. I used instant mashed potatoes to form the base of the salad and then strategically placed the lettuce to hold the shrimp in an aesthetically pleasing way. I used water to sprits the shrimp with to give it a fresh shine and worked with the light to create this golden hour effect.
The client was well pleased with the story this tells to create the vibe of the restaurant and tells a story from the point of view of the customer. The goal in food photography is to make it appealing and leave your audience hungry. My professor was happy with how they turned out and the way the light hits the food in the perfect way.
