A portion of my work is devoted to underrepresented groups who are also underrepresented by design. Grab Back is an advocacy poster created for women in protest, designed to give women a stronger visual voice in the women's protest marches and making design an accessible resource to everyone, democratizing this powerful tool. This poster supports gender equality and freedom of speech and is an opportunity to guide, inspire and motivate people to take positive action.
Concept - I wanted to reference firecrackers to represent women. They are pretty to look at but can be explosive if mishandled.
I designed and provided protest posters to participants of the Women’s March January 18-19, 2020. The posters were distributed at marches in New York City’s Central Park, Dallas City Hall in Texas, and the Texas State Capitol in Austin. USAToday, a newspaper with the largest circulation in the country, 5 million readers, featured my poster in the article Photos: 2020 Women’s March.
