Taub Family Selections approached Gatto Rivera after they had recently acquired Saracina Vineyards, a winery situated on a 250-acre ranch just outside the town of Hopland, home to vineyards, bee hives, olive trees, a winery, and three lakes. The existing label featured ultra abstract art and difficult to read type. The challenge was to create fresh branding and packaging that would photograph well and communicate Saracina’s sense of place.
This label evolution was designed to reflect the balance between the site’s rugged terrain and the winery’s elegant and modern architecture. The varied textures of the artwork capture the diversity of the landscape and conjure the special nature of the estate. Gold foil, rich paper, and a deep brandmark deboss offer effective quality cues.
