Stoked Records targets the local pipeline surf community of North Shore and people drawn to it. For all generations who have a heart for the waves or the music inspired by it. Stoked’s mission is to spread the love of surf and music to locals and visitors alike. The music sold at this beachside record store is beach rock, beach pop, reggae, and others alike. My goals with this project were to create a brand that fits the location, services, and demographic of this business. I wanted to make this brand warm, friendly, and local feel to the brand.
This project was a collaboration between TCU interior design. The interior design students were responsible for creating and designing the interior of the building and I was responsible for designing, naming, and creating the brand. All branding and graphic design work was my own creation. My creative process with this project was to start by deciding with my interior design partner what the location, story, and main theme of the record store. It helps me in the design process by developing a creative brief that lays out the brand. The project was to create a brand surrounding a record store - and my solution was to create a local record store of the North Shore of Hawaii.
I believe this project turned out successful because the brand is cohesive, bright, and fitting for theme and demographic of the store.
