The portrait of Lady Macbeth is of a beautiful, alluring woman. She expresses power through seduction, that will convince her husband to murder King Duncan. Adding the blood on her crown and eyes represents the act of murder and the guilt that she carries. The blood may be misleading: is it lingering from the crown, or are those tears of regret, yet to come further along the play? The Apex and Arms of the typeface were altered in order to enhance the feminine/masculine feel in the play.
