The project for Café Sunflower was to create a logo that represents the organic cuisine of this farm-to-table bistro. Café Sunflower is a casual-dining establishment serving traditional American dishes made entirely from all-natural vegetarian/vegan sources. The interior is warm and friendly while maintaining a white tablecloth dine-in experience. A new logo trademark for Café Sunflower presented the opportunity to combine specific aesthetics to reflect a refreshed brand personality. The sunflower symbolizes their food offerings, while the petals communicate a fun, active, and casual environment.

Throughout the creative process, I want to keep an organic flow through the logo's characteristics to emphasize the warm environment of the restaurant. After many sketches and ideas, the concepts came to a force connection of a sunflower symbol combined with eating utensils as the petals. The colors reflect the authentic warm values of a natural sunflower. The bright yellow and brown seeds hint at the high-contrast of the flower.

The project was successful in class and met all the criteria for the creative brief for Café Sunflower.
