We were asked to create a poster series featuring each of the five plays that make up The St. Louis Black Rep Theatre’s 45th season. Our goal was to announce this season’s play lineup at their annual gala and raise awareness for The Black Rep’s live performances at a moment when gathering in public is a less-than-ideal proposition.
Approach
To highlight the themes of perseverance and camaraderie in each of the five distinct plays, the Perspectives of Resilience poster series depicts the heavy subject matter of each performance through bold illustrations that feature the tensions and dualities of each story.
Results
These posters represent the latest iteration in a more than 20-year theatre-agency relationship. The unveiling of the campaign and commitment to five performances at this year’s gala was a huge financial success with corporate and individual sponsors — helping keep the curtains open through another pandemic-challenged season of starts and stops.
