On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the passing of Eugenio Toussaint, renowned pianist, jazzman and concert music composer from Mexico, I was asked by Urtext and Poster’s Not Dead Networks to design and illustrate a poster to celebrate Toussaint's music and to be part of the poster collection Senda Duotonal / Graphic tribute to Eugenio Toussaint.
In my opinion, Toussaint's music was inspired in nature, most specifically in the jungle. As a matter of fact his band was named Sacbé, which means path in Mayan and one of his albums was named Selva Tucanera (Toucan's Jungle). I wanted the poster to reflect nature, latin jazz but above all, beauty.
The poster collection collection Senda Duotonal / Graphic tribute to Eugenio Toussaint was turned into a trans-media collection (posters with sound in augmented reality) and it was exhibited at the beautiful Franz Mayer Museum located in downtown Mexico City, as part of the Second Urtext Festival.
