The LGBTQ flag is memorialized as a teardrop, falling from an eye — a representation of our collective grief. As a way to bring attention to the sense of place, the state of Florida is graphically represented as the highlight in the eye's pupil.
As the designer and illustrator, I felt a raw, expressive visual voice was needed in the solution, thus, the hand-drawn aesthetic.
