'The Sun On The Sea' is a new artwork by Owen Gildersleeve celebrating the start of the New Year and the joy in those little things, such as personal work and exploration, grabbing that calming headspace when you can and trying to get out of the studio more to catch the sun on the sea. Originally created in response to Grand Matter’s question ‘Joy is?’ this print will soon be available from my shop as an Archival Quality Giclée print on natural art paper with a matt, uncoated finish and lightly textured surface, that ensures a rich and vibrant display of colours.
The final design was drawn up in Adobe Illustrator and then each layer of the design cutout of sheets of coloured paper, using a variety of stocks to add a nice range of textures. The final artwork was assemble using pieces of foamboard to add depth and the finished artwork was shot in my studio using natural light, to give nice soft shadows, and retouched in Adobe Photoshop.
This print has already gone a storm on my socials and will be pride of place in my new online shop: shop.owengildersleeve.com
