The development of a progress report, documenting the diverse activities that support the CSR guidelines of GEWOBA, a major property management organization in northern Germany.
The GEWOBA CSR-Report was meant to be more than a standard progress report. We wanted the report to be a creative experience for the reader, employing consistent design elements such as form, material, typography, and illustration style to display the corporate positioning and social activities. We wanted readers to feel that they were being granted insight into the personal notebook of the company.
The ideas, thoughts and processes of the CSR activities are sketched throughout the report in a collage-like illustration style; important statements and numbers are highlighted as bold graphic illustrations, with supplementary notes located in the margins. The visual experience strongly mimics that of a notebook. A soft paper choice in combination with the triple thread-stitching add a comforting tactile character to the report. Folded dog-ears mark the start of each chapter, a guest article is included in the form of an attached letter, and the most important themes of the year are included in the beginning on a sticky note. The concept and design of the progress report creatively play with the medium and allow the reader a more intimate insight into the thoughts and activities of GEWOBA. The reader is able to follow the notebook of a positively active organization.
