This project was intended to rebrand the restaurant Frog and Snail, a Paris-inspired brunch spot that specializes in crepes. The brand's image needed to be made into something that conveyed fine dining, rather than focusing solely on the animal aspects of the name itself.
Frog and snail images needed to be included within the logo to keep it cohesive and identifiable, but they needed to be secondary aspects rather than primary. Additionally, they needed to be presented in a way that didn't seem jarring or unappetizing, as they are not common cuisine.
By simplifying the animal elements of the logo and primarily focusing on the utensils, the brand retains it high-end feel and steers away from a mascot-like approach, which does not match the brand's intended image. Additionally, by encasing the images within a ring of text to make it an emblem, the logo gains a sense of authority and prestige, resembling something one would emboss on an important document, or a wax seal.
