Life on Earth festival is an imaginary film festival in New York, screening nature documentaries. I was inspired by a nature documentary called ‘Fantastic Fungi’, that I wanted to make the posters look like a microscope view.
Approach
I used a tracing paper with water color paintings to mimic the microscopic scale of a fungi where it looks vague when you see them through a microscope. I used small circles to create a type face that looks like small creatures that are gathering together to form a type.
Results
I got a lot of feedback that the custom type looked very interesting and the audiences liked the idea that I used different kind of mediums and experimented them instead of sticking on a computer screen.
