Goddess on Water Emerges

When you name your watercraft after the goddess of beauty, you'd better deliver divinity. Seven Seas Yachts’ Venus Speedster X proves that lightning can indeed strike twice.

Any company that names a product after the Roman goddess of beauty needs to hold its design acumen to an extremely high standard. Luckily, Seven Seas Yachts has now twice produced a boat worthy of this deity’s moniker, with the Venus Speedster’s new larger variant, the Venus Speedster X, which launched in 2024.

When docked among a throng of white angular vessels, both Venuses are instantly eye-catching, providing a blast to the past that will surely make some onlookers wonder which century they were crafted in. Yet, when zipping elegantly along the waves, their bygone-era personality truly shines, seeming like they’re on a mission to take their passengers back to a more carefree time.

And yes, the Venuses do look smoother in motion than their competitors. Their sharp entry angles work with the unique hull designs to cut through waves smoothly, resulting in a ride that features no pounding. Or, to put it another way, the craftsmanship that has gone into the Venus Speedsters not only makes them look sleek but also ensures they feel just as smooth when charging across the open seas.

From afar, the Venus Speedster X would turn heads in destinations as lavish as Monaco. Yet, up close, a range of small touches elevate it even further. Even the beverage holders contain small LED lights, conveying an air of luxury that only those on board can genuinely appreciate. And yes, these beverages will be cold, thanks to a hidden refrigerator located behind the driver’s seat within what initially appears to be humble storage space.

But perhaps the most impressive hidden feature of this boat lies below deck. Within the Venus Speedster X’s bow is a cabin housing a double bed with a nifty, small, circular skylight above, giving those resting within the opportunity to gaze up at a starry night. Concealed elsewhere on board are a toilet and a shower, ensuring that it’s possible to live comfortably on board for an extended period of time.

Surprisingly, for a product that is so clearly an homage to the aesthetics of the middle of the 20th century, the Venus Speedster X is available with a zero-emission electric option. Even the version with conventional combustion uses “smaller engines than similar sized boats while still being faster than its competitors.” In fact, this efficiency and a video screen in the center of the dashboard appear to be the only two exposed design elements to have noticeably come from the 21st century.

How many boats of this size on the market combine superb living amenities, stellar speed, superior efficiency, and a stunning appearance this well? The Venus Speedsters are exactly what the phrase “in a league of their own” was coined for!

In 2011, Seven Seas Yachts launched with the ambitious goal of producing seafaring vehicles that excelled in all aspects of design and production. In 2015, it released the Venus Speedster to acclaim within the boating industry. The new Venus Speedster X updates this design, offering significantly more features.
